2017/2018 School Year Registration
This year Decatur County Community Schools will be offering students and parents the opportunity to do the majority of school paperwork and fees online through parent Harmony 3 accounts. Returning students will be able to begin this process online on July 10. Parents must have a Harmony account already set up, student Harmony accounts cannot be used for registration. See information below about setting up your Harmony 3 account. You will need a Harmony registration code to set up an account, the schools may not be able to get this to you until the end of July (see instructions below for more info). If you try to register at home before July 26th and have difficulties, we recommend going to the school during the registration hours listed to get assistance. Click here for instructions document on setting up a new parent Harmony 3 account. 

If you do not have home internet, a device, or still need to set up your parent Harmony 3 account DCCS is offering time at each school to register on-site. Parents will still be registering their student(s) online but may use computers at each school to complete their yearly paperwork. There will be people available on-site to help parents and students register. You will also be able to pay your school fees online or by cash/check at the school. If you do not have a parent Harmony 3 account you will be able to set one up one site with assistance (you will need an email address). 

**New students must register on-site.

July 27 - From 12 PM - 8 PM, NDES/NDHS on-site registration. 
July 28 - From 8 AM - 4 PM, All DCCS schools open for on-site registration. 

Harmony 3 Access
Harmony has now been updated to the most current version, Harmony 3 Family Access. Harmony 3 brings some great features to parents and students. One being, parents will have one login for multiple students. 2017 school registration will take place through Harmony 3. To gain access you will need a registration code for each student. These codes were sent out last school year (August/September 2016). Please follow the directions on the email to access Harmony 3. Harmony 2 will no longer be available. If you did not receive an email it may be because your email has not been updated in our system. If this is the case please email Jill Richards (jrichards@decaturco.k12.in.us) in the guidance office and she will get your information updated. If you have lost the email or need it re-sent email Jill Richards and she can resend the info. Students and parents will have different logins and different registration codes. To add multiple students to your account, you will need the access code for each child sent to your email.

2017 Pennies for Paitients 
SDHS students and staff raised $1615.11 for the Pennies for Patients to help support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society this year, and have a five year total of $4,805.82! Big thanks to everyone!!

2017 Boiler Tech Competition Results: 
       Twenty-two South Decatur students participated against ten other schools for bragging rights in this years’ Boiler Tech boilertech2Challenge.  The “Find It” team placed third.  Team members were: Charlie Hamilton, Justin Bates, Zane Brown, and Brenan Cooper.  The entire South team placed 2nd in the Social Media posting, with Brooke Helms winning the most creative video award.  Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Smith placed 1st in the Teacher’s Challenge.  Other students competing for South Decatur included:   Kory Mullins, Garrett Bates, Aiden Brown, Kenny Stier, Nick Benge, Nathan Benge, Will Smiley, Daniel Mapes, Eli Watkins, Victoria Nash, Thomas Schwering, Kirby Owens, Olivia Fry, Olivia Clarkson, Vanessa Veerkamp, Stacy Fox, and Annie Gant. SDHS Students Travel to England and Scottland 
Over the 2017 Spring Break 7 SDHS students and 3 parents traveled to England and Scotland with SD teachers Kay Smith, Karen Hudson, and Don Hudson.

South Decatur Archery: 
archery2The high school team placed 7th in the NASP Indiana State Tournament March 11th 2017 with a score of 3317/3600 in the bulls eye competition. The team had 163 bullseyes. Zach Ferris finished 8th in his division, Wyatt Gatewood finished 6th in his division, and Lana Bell finished 9th in her division.

3D State: The high school team finished 2nd in the state overall with Delanie Diekhoff being the top shooter overall in the state! The team consists of Cody Diekhoff, Delanie Diekhoff, Hunter Gatewood, Wyatt Gatewood, Ethan Gatewood, Zach Ferris, Jacob Ferris, Hunter Waters, Arin Hermann, Erynn Dyer, Nathan Kroger, Abigail Collins, and Nathan Fairchild. The team earned an automatic spot at the NASP Nationals Tournament in Louisville, KY May 13th.
